Duqm Refinery Could Allow New Partners: Minister

Total and a South Korean oil company are being considered for a partnership in the Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

Allowing new partners is subject to the approval of the company’s Board of Directors, according to the Kuwaiti Minister of Oil, Khaled Al-Fahdel.

Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company is a joint venture (JV) between Oman Oil Company (OOC) and Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI).

The refinery opens the door for more advanced projects to enhance cooperation between Oman and Kuwait, Al-Fadhel said during a meeting with his Omani counterpart Mohammad Al-Rumahi.

The Duqm refinery was launched in April 2018 with $7 billion investments.
