DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG has plans to inject more investments in Disouq and the Gulf of Suez, DEA’s CEO, Maria Moraeus Hanssen, stated, adding that Egypt is becoming more attractive for investments, especially after the success in North Alexandria project, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
Hanssen’s comments came during her meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, to discuss the company’s projects and activities to develop and produce oil and gas in Egypt, as well as the company’s targeted investments.
DEA is one of the main partners in Egypt, as it has been working in the country for over 40 years, during which it has made outstanding success in exploration and production (E&P) and fields’ development, El Molla stated.
DEA is working in developing West Nile Delta projects in North Alexandria and West Mediterranean deepwater, along with BP, after it successfully worked with the ministry of petroleum in Taurus and Libra fields, the minister further pointed out.
DEA AG is looking forward to the merger transaction with Germany’s Wintershall to become one of the main German companies working in E&P field, Hanssen said.
