Cyprus Keen to Develop Partnership with Egypt

Cypriot Minister of Energy George Papanastasiou expressed his country’s desire to develop its partnership with Egypt through intensifying dialogues during the coming period to activate the cooperation on natural gas.

This came during his meeting with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla on the sidelines of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) 2024, where they discussed how to boost the cooperation and integration between the two countries under the umbrella of East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF).

El Molla affirmed that the cooperation between the two countries is a mutual benefit for both parties and there are a lot of integration opportunities supported by the exist of infrastructure and the growing natural gas explorations as well as the strong political and economic linkages between Cyprus and Egypt.
