China’s ZTT to Provide Cables to Saudi Aramco

Chinese submarine cable manufacturer ZTT Group was awarded a contract from EMAS Chiyoda and Italy’s Saipem and has been confirmed as the bidder of three projects with Saudi Aramco, Subsea World News informed.

According to Offshore Energy Today, ZTT will provide 33KV and 15KV cables that would be installed at Aramco’s Hasbah II, Marjan & Zuluf, and Safaniya projects. The three projects together are worth $30m.

As ZTT stated, the company has passed the supplier qualification from Saudi Aramco since 2009 and achieved accumulated submarine cable orders with total amount over $100m.

“Winning consecutive successful bidding in offshore oil-gas projects from Saudi Aramco marks ZTT has built the brand advantages in the high-end submarine cable markets, and had the strength to compete with the international top-ranking submarine enterprises in the high-tech products,” ZTT declared in a public press release.

In January 2017, ZTT entered into European submarine cable market after being selected by Germany Tennet, as supplier for 155KV submarine cable EPC project.
