The Embassy of Chile in Cairo has celebrated the 209 Chile National Day, marking the anniversary of its independence from the Spanish colonial rule on September 18, 1810.

Under the patronage of Ambassador of Chile in Egypt, Pablo Arriaran, Enap Sipetrol Egypt’s General Manager, Roberto McLeod, and Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) Chief Executive Officer, Abed Ezz El Regal have attended the celebration.

 Enap Sipetrol is a Chilean state oil company which has been investing in Egypt since 1998 and currently has operations in the Western Desert in East Ras Qattara concession.

As President of Chile Sebastián Piñera assumed office in March 2018, Enap Sipetrol executed important organizational restructures within its upstream and downstream business in Chile and Argentina. In July 2019, Enap Sipetrol had restructured its branch in Egypt after tasking McLeod, in August, to expand the company’s operations here.
