Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek EL Molla has met with Cheiron Energy CEO Alan Linn and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting tackled the company’s activities in Egypt and its future plans in light of the company’s implementation of an extensive drilling program in its concession areas in the Mediterranean Sea; the Eastern and Western Deserts; and the Gulf of Suez.
During the meeting, El Molla stated that Cheiron Energy has a successful history in Egypt and has contributed to achieving many success stories. The minister highlighted the petroleum sector’s support for the efforts of international petroleum companies to increase production, achieve more discoveries and develop them, and face and overcome challenges.
Additionally, El Molla expressed his aspiration for Cheiron Energy to achieve more success and discoveries and increase its production.
Cheiron Energy’s delegation indicated that the company attaches utmost importance to research and exploration activities in Egypt and aspires to achieve more success and increase production rates by attracting new rigs and applying advanced technological systems to drill more wells in its concession areas.
They further highlighted the company’s commitment to accelerating the development of new discoveries and production from them, and its desire to expand its business portfolio and acquire more concession areas in Egypt.
The meeting was attended by Alaa El Batal, Chairman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), and Samir Raslan, Undersecretary for Agreements and Exploration at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
