Butane Imports Decline by 33.6%

Butane imports declined by 33.6% year on year (Y.o.Y) to reach 153,400 tons in September 2017, compared to 231,800 tons in September 2016, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

Despite the decrease in imports, butane consumption has decreased by 4.7%, reaching 314,200 tons in September 2017, from 329,800 tons in September 2016, according to statistics released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Meanwhile, butane production recorded a slight increase of 0.13% to reach 154,800 tons of butane in September 2017, compared to 154,600 in September 2016.

Egypt consumed 316,900 tons of butane in August 2017, hence consumption has decreased by 0.85% in September 2017 compared to the previous month.
