BP has invested a total of EGP 80 million into health and education services in the Edku and Rosetta regions, said Hesham Mekawy, BP’s regional president of North Africa, according to Amwal Al Ghad.

Mekawy also revealed that the company has allocated EGP 40 million to be spent on developing and supporting the health and education fields in Edku and Rosetta regions during 2018.

Mekawy highlighted the company’s role in providing services in regions close to its concession areas, and pointed out BP’s commitment to sustainable community development programs based on education and training.

The regional president’s comments came during a BP press conference.

Minister of Petroleum Tarek El Molla met in April with BP’s head of supply and trading, Alan Haywood, to form a joint committee that will study opportunities for future cooperation, Egypt Oil & Gas previously reported.

During the meeting, El Molla and his guests discussed BP’s opportunities to participate in ship refueling and refinement activities. They also discussed how to best utilize refined products and improving their specifications, as well as constructing petroleum products storage warehouses.
