A delegation from bp headed by the company’s CEO Bernard Looney has praised Egyptian efforts in carbon reduction as well as its growing regional and international role in the field of natural gas, emphasizing the country’s capabilities to be hub for hydrogen production.
This came during their meeting with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resource Tarek El Molla on the sidelines of the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) event in London to promote green investments.
During the meeting, the two parties affirmed their looking forward to strengthening the cooperation, especially in the fields of carbon reduction, energy transition and green hydrogen production.
El Molla affirmed that the oil and gas sector in Egypt is moving steadily according to a clear road map towards achieving more discoveries and increasing production to secure energy supplies locally as well as regionally and internationally.
Additionally, the minister hailed the keenness of bp to continuously support building capacities and capabilities in Egypt as part of the ministry’s Modernization program.
