BP and Eni signed a heads of agreement (HoA) with the Omani Ministry of Oil and Gas for more exploration opportunities in the country, BP announced on January 14.

Under the agreement, the two companies plan to enter discussions with the Omani ministry to finish the details of a new exploration and production sharing agreement (EPSA) for block 77 in Oman.

”We look forward to contuning to explore and efficiently develop the country’s resources, working in close partnership with Eni and Oman to underpin our commitment to deliver long-term gas production for Oman,” Bernard Looney, BP CEO Upstream said.

Block 77 covers a total area of around 3,100 km2 and is located in central Oman.
