Baker Hughes Wins Iraqi Gas Flare Contract
Gas flaring

Iraq South Gas Company (SGC) has awarded a contract to Baker Hughes a contract for fast-track solutions to help the recovery of flared gases in Nassiriya and Al Gharraf oilfields, Mubasher reported.

Advanced modular gas processing technology will be used for flare gas recovery, as well as using modular skid-mounted gas processing technology to build a 200 million standard cubic feet per day gas to liquid (NGL) plant, expected to come online by 2021, the company’s statement added.

The modular processing plant will provide dry gas to power plants for efficient power generation to meet growing electricity demand, while simultaneously curtailing the gas flared at the Nassiriya and Al Gharraf fields.
