The number of Baker Hughes’s rotary drilling rigs operating in the United States has increased on April 16, recording 439 rigs, with a seven-unit week-on-week jump Rigzone reported.
The rig count reflects a seven-unit increase in oil rigs, a one-unit increase in gas rigs, and a one-unit drop in the number of miscellaneous rigs. This brings the total number of oil rigs to 344 and the number of gas rigs to 94, while the number of miscellaneous rig has dropped to.
These numbers mark a decline compared to 2020’s rig count in the same period as it is down 90 rigs. In this regard, the company noted that 94 more oil rigs, five fewer gas rigs, and one more miscellaneous rig were operating a year ago.
As for Canada’s overall rig count, it dropped by two this week to reach 56 rigs. To break it down, Canada now has 17 oil rigs and 39 gas rigs as of April 16.
