Bahrain’s Silver Eagle to Build New Drilling Units

Bahrain-based Silver Eagle Global announced that it has reached an agreement with PetroVietnam Shipyard to build a series of self-elevated drilling units (SEDU), Rigzone has reported.

The cost of the contract was not disclosed, however, the contents of the contract consists of the construction of two vessels at PVMS’ Vung Tau shipyard in Vietnam and also includes an option for two additional vessels. 

According to a press release from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), the company will provide classification for a series of highly innovative SEDU for Silver Eagle Global. 

The Silver Eagle Executive, Ronald Sanders, commented to Rigzone saying, “we believe this design will provide a cost-effective solution for the offshore energy industry in all cycles of commodity prices.” Silver Eagle also added that it has entered into a master services agreement with Baker Hughes.
