Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, visited the Kingdom of Jordan following an invitation from Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, the Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. During the visit, the two ministers held a meeting attended by officials from both countries.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and exploring strategies for diversifying energy sources between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The talks also addressed plans and initiatives of both governments concerning natural gas development projects in the region, building upon the achievements of recent years.
The Minister’s visit comes in the framework of the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ (MoPMR) policy to enhance regional cooperation and integration with neighboring countries. This is with the aim of achieving optimal utilization of infrastructure in a way that achieves common interests and contributes to maximizing the benefit from oil, gas and mineral resources. This is in light of the joint strategies to secure and diversify energy resources between Egypt and Jordan contributing to the national security of both countries and benefiting from the exchange of expertise and exploiting all sorts of energies.
On the sidelines of the visit, Badawi also visited the headquarters of the Jordanian Egyptian Fajr for Natural Gas Transmission & Supply Company in Amman and TGS Company, where he was briefed on the business plans of the Egyptian petroleum sector companies operating in Jordan and the current as well as future projects planned to be implemented in the Kingdom of Jordan.
