Major Oil and Gas Companies undergo Leadership Reshuffle

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi approved a new appointment movement that included several chairmen of oil and gas sector companies in the last week of May.

Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Ismail was appointed Vice Chairman of the Natural Gas Projects Company (Egypt Gas). He brings extensive experience, having served in several companies, last of which was serving as Assistant to the Chairman of Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM).

Mohamed Hassan Ibrahim Hassan El-Neil was assigned the role of Chairman of the Egyptian International Gas Technology (Gastec) Board of Directors. This appointment follows a career path that began in 1998, where he progressed through Natural Gas Vehicles Company (Car Gas), ultimately reaching the position of General Manager of Conversion in 2017.

Khaled Mohamed Omar Raslan was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Car Gas Company. He joined the sector in 1998 and held several positions within the company, eventually taking charge of the Upper Egypt South region’s management in 2017.

Sayed Ahmed Abdel Fattah Selim has assumed the chairmanship of Rashid Petroleum Company’s (Rashpetco) Board of Directors. A graduate of Suez Canal University in 1997, he has held numerous leadership positions, most notably as General Manager of Petroleum Engineering and Assistant Chairman for Operations in 2020.

Islam Mohamed Mahmoud Bassiouny was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors for United Gas Derivatives Company (UGDC). A graduate of Alexandria University in 1998, he has extensive experience in the field of natural gases, during which he held important executive positions such as General Manager of Quality and General Manager of Mechanical Maintenance in 2024.

Ibrahim Fawzy Ibrahim Mawafi assumed the chairmanship of Nile Petroleum Company’s Board of Directors. He brings extensive experience, having joined Cooperation Petroleum Company (Copetrole) in 1991 and progressively risen through positions, eventually becoming Assistant Chairman for Technical Affairs and a Board Member in 2021.

Hossam El-Toni was assigned the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors for Midor Electricity (MidElec). He is one of the distinguished members of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) who excelled in financial affairs, having held important positions including General Manager of Administrative Affairs and then EGPC’s Executive Vice Chairman for Administrative Affairs.

Yasser Zaki Ahmed Azab was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of SANAGAS Company. Azab began his career in the sector in 1999 and rose through the ranks at Egypt Gas, holding several prominent positions, most notably General Manager of Marketing and General Manager of Local Purchases.
