Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with the Chairman of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) Yassin Mohamed, and his deputies.
They discussed the current challenges and possible solutions for accelerating natural gas exploration and production (E&P), attracting new investments, and effectively promoting promising areas.
The meeting also addressed the challenges of delivering natural gas to homes, which require governmental coordination to resolve in order to save financial resources and support butane cylinders. Additionally, they discussed current initiatives and efforts to raise awareness about safety practices at worksites.
During the meeting, Badawi highlighted the crucial role of the petroleum sector in developing the energy resources which is necessary for the industries. He noted that the success in dealing with the challenges and achieving an increase in production will have a positive impact on attracting more investments from international companies in the oil and gas sector, further developing energy resources, and maximizing the state’s revenues from this sector, which greatly affects economic development.
In addition, Badawi praised EGAS’ role in attracting international investments in energy sector pointing to Egypt’s strong will to solve the problem of the accumulated debts of foreign partners.
