Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Memet Kont, Chairman of Mediterra Energy Corporation, and the accompanying delegation, as they discussed the company’s current activities and its 2025 future plans.
The meeting reviewed the drilling programs and operations currently being carried out by the company and those planned in its concession areas, Sinai and Kom Ombo.
Badawi highlighted the importance of making more efforts to increase research and exploration activities, working to reduce the cost of the barrel, and applying advanced technology and techniques.
For his part, Kont stated that Egypt is one of the most important countries in which the company operates, and that it intends to increase drilling operations.
Kont noted out that there are 8 drilling rigs and we are seeking to add two more drilling rigs, adding that Sinai has promising potential and we seek to increase production from it during the coming year 2025.
Additionally, Kont explained that the company seeks to modernize and develop the infrastructure and production facilities, and the company is keen to pay attention to the human element and provide training programs to hone their skills.
