Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has met with the Norway’s Ambassador to Egypt Hilde Klemetsdal and Scatec’s Executive Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa region Mohamed Amer, showcasing the latest updates of the green hydrogen production project and discussing how to foster cooperation in the energy transition and green energy projects.
During the meeting, Badawi affirmed that Norway’s companies have distinguished experiences in the technologies of energy transition, green hydrogen, and low carbon affirming their contribution in the successes achieved in the field of green hydrogen in the petroleum sector.
Also, the minister stressed his full support to implement such projects in light of the relationship between the two countries.
He stated that the current challenges require work at all levels to overcome them and need success factors for the projects being worked on, especially increasing production, and bridging the gap, in parallel with the trend towards a green economy and expanding green energies.
Badawi confirmed that petroleum sector seeks to implement the government’s direction towards establishing green hydrogen projects in addition to the improving the efficiency of energy consumption and carbon emission reduction.
For her part, Klemetsdal highlighted the full compatibility to complete projects that are beneficial to both countries.
