Badawi Holds Talks with Apache to Review Plans for Drilling New Wells in the Western Desert

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Apache’s Vice President and Country Manager in Egypt Greg McDaniel to hold talks on cooperation in oil and gas exploration and production in the Western Desert.

The two sides reviewed the implemented plans to drill new wells as well as the targeted programs to increase the production of natural gas in the Western Desert after their agreement of pumping new investments. 

During the meeting, Badawi stressed the importance of accelerating well drilling plans to contribute to increasing local production as a top priority in the ministry’s work strategy. 

He also stressed the importance of following the health, safety and environment procedures, appreciating the distinguished performance in this field in the company’s concession areas through Khalda Petroleum Company.

Apache’s Vice President pointed out the company’s interest in cooperating with the petroleum sector to implement work programs to increase oil and gas production, as well as supporting environmental sustainability, energy efficiency projects and reducing emissions.
