The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with Lijue Wu, Founder and CEO of Ximei Resources Holding in China, along with his accompanying delegation to explore investment opportunities in the Egyptian mining sector.
This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) of ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and attract foreign investments into the mining sector, and in line with Ximei’s interest in expanding its activities in Egypt.
Badawi welcomed the Chinese delegation, highlighting deep ties between Egypt and China. He emphasized the ministry’s commitment to forge a robust partnership with the company in the mining sector, underscoring the ministry’s focus on this sector and working on developing it through reform programs, regulations to facilitate investments, and boost competitiveness.
For their part, company officials reaffirmed their keen interest in investing in Egypt’s mining sector. They emphasized Ximei’s extensive experience of over 25 years, particularly in the extraction and processing of tantalum and niobium metals, important for several industries and applications.
