Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi highlighted the importance of the role played by the Petroleum Pipelines Company (PPC) as a main artery for transporting and distributing vital petroleum products to all consumption areas.
Badawi directed PPC to quickly develop an action plan to protect oil pipelines that pass through vital cities and areas and work in coordination with local authorities to determine all mechanisms and controls to ensure that these pipelines are not exposed to breakage during construction or excavation work within the boundaries of these pipelines, in order to preserve public safety.
This came during the general assembly meeting chaired by the minister, via video conference, to approve the company’s investment budget of FY 2025/26.
PPC Chairman, Nabawy Mahmoud, presented the company’s plans in the field of replacing, renewing and upgrading the lines, and projects to support the capabilities of the line network within the framework of the Ministry’s strategy to enhance Egypt’s role as a regional center for oil trading and commerce.
