Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, announced a new round of leadership transfers across the petroleum sector as part of the ministry’s strategy to maximize the utilization of talent and expertise and enhance competencies across the sector.
Rasha Abdel Fattah El-Sayed Ramadan has been appointed as Chairwoman and Managing Director of Misr Fertilizers Production Company (MOPCO). She began her career in 1996 in the petroleum sector as a general manager at the Egyptian Drilling Company (EDC) and held a series of leadership positions, becoming Vice President for Financial and Economic Affairs and Board Member at Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) in 2024.
Hossam Mohamed El-Fahmy Soliman, has been chosen as the Chairman and Managing Director, Wood Technology Company (WOTECH). Soliman began his career in the petroleum sector as a chemist at Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (Sidpec) in 1999, progressing through various positions until becoming Chairman and Managing Director of Petrochemical Logistics Services Company (PLS) in 2020.
Yassin Abdel Hakim Abdel Maksoud Eissa has been named Chairman and Managing Director of the Egyptian Sustainable Aviation Fuel Company (ESAF). Eissa began his career as an engineer at Alexandria Petroleum Company in 2000 and rose through several positions until becoming General Manager of the Atmospheric and Vacuum Distillation Complex (MIDOR Project) in 2022.
Ahmed Sobhy Ali Ibrahim has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director of the Egyptian Bioethanol Company (EBIOL) Ibrahim began his career as an engineer at the Egyptian Linear Alkyl Benzene Company (ELAB) in 2010, rising through the ranks to become General Manager Assistant for Engineering and Planning in 2018. He served as General Manager of Special Projects and Planning in 2025.
Mohamed Ali Mohamed El-Rashidy has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director of Petrochemical Logistics Services Company (PLS). El-Rashidy joined the petroleum sector as a chemist at the Egyptian Petrochemicals Company (EPC) in 1996 and progressed through several positions until serving as Chairman and Managing Director of the Egyptian Bioethanol Company (EBIOL) since 2021.
Mahmoud Saeed Ghoneimy Gharib has been tapped as Chairman and Managing Director of Paris Oasis Natural Water Company and New Valley Bottling Company (under the Egyptian Petroleum Sector). Gharib joined Misr Petroleum Company in 2003 as a specialist and rose through several positions until becoming Assistant General Manager for Refining and Manufacturing Accounting at Amreya and Alexandria Petroleum Companies in 2015. He later served as General Manager for Accounting at Refining and Manufacturing Companies in the Cairo region at EGPC in 2020.
Ahmed Mahmoud Mohamed El-Sayed has been appointed Vice President for Operations and Board Member, Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM). El-Sayed started his career at the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) in 1992. He rose through various ranks until serving as becoming Chairman and Managing Director of MOPCO in 2023.
Mohamed Mahmoud Zaky Mohamed has been designated Chairman, EPC. Mohamed graduated joined the petroleum sector as a chemist at the EPC in 1991 and advanced through several positions until becoming Vice President for Operations and Board Member at ECHEM in 2019.
Mohamed Sabry Hanafy Mahmoud has been assigned as Chairman Assistant for Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). Mahmoud started his career as a chemist at GASCO in 2000 and progressed through various positions until becoming General Manager for HSE at Petroleum Pipelines Company in 2024.
Tamer Mohamed Mohamed Aiyesh has been appointed Assistant Chairman for HSE, Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO). Aiyesh began his career at Alexandria Company for Petroleum Additives (ACPA) in 2001 as a specialist and advanced through several positions until becoming Chairman Assistant for HSE, EGPC.
Sally Salah El-Din Sayed Abdel Rahman has been named Chairwoman and Managing Director, El Wastani Petroleum company (WASCO). She began her career in the petroleum sector as a specialist at EGAS in 2006 and rose through several positions until becoming General Manager for Energy Market Monitoring and Decision Support in 2024.
