AVEVA Records 93% Emissions Cut in 2024

AVEVA, a global leader in industrial software, released its 2024 Sustainability Report at London Climate Action Week, during which it revealed progress across all three pillars of the company’s sustainability framework: technology handprint, operational footprint and inclusive culture.

The company reported 93% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions against its baseline year, driven by utilizing renewable energy, careful management of office space and fleet optimization.

Since 2022, the company has reduced its fleet size by 58.6%, from 186 vehicles to 77 at the start of 2025. Of the remaining vehicles, 35 are hybrid and six are electric

In respect of inclusive culture, AVEVA participated in forums like COP29 and the World Economic Forum to champion radical collaboration on climate and social issues.

By the end of 2024, AVEVA assessed the maturity of its entire product portfolio aligned with the Green Software Foundation’s principles. The company’s research and development teams had completed power bench testing for 85% of the company’s products to evaluate energy consumption.

For the first time, AVEVA  released an annual saved and avoided emissions figure, reflecting the material energy savings observed for a specific portion of its products. AVEVA is committed to refining and expanding this calculation of measurable saved and avoided emissions over time, the company said in its press release.

“As we enter the final year of our 2025 targets, we are focused on meeting our goals and chartering an even bolder path with our sustainability framework. We know that the biggest impact comes from our software handprint – how we work with our customers to enable them to drive decarbonization, become more resilient and support circularity. This is why we’re publicly reporting our 2024 customer saved and avoided emissions data for select industry sectors,” said Lisa Wee, CSO, AVEVA.

“We are committed to expanding our methodology to capture and quantify our broader impact. At AVEVA, we are continuing to advance towards a sustainable future, driving digital transformation through our software and leading by example with responsible operations,” she added.

AVEVA opened a new office in Cairo this year to strengthen its regional presence and support industrial digital transformation. In February, Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (Enppi) signed a cooperation agreement with AVEVA to strengthen strategic partnerships and cooperation in technical consulting and software systems in the oil and gas sectors. Moreover, Enppi has also signed with AVEVA a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at training Enppi’s staff using the latest technologies and applications in their training programs.

Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) signed also in February a tripartite MoU with AVEVA and Micro Engineering Egypt (MEEG) to provide advanced and innovative services, including consultancy and installation services, digital transformation such as 3D modeling, Digital Twin technology, and monitoring vessels actual conditions of marine units. The tripartite MoU also includes specialized training programs to enhance technical skills and analytical reporting and smart dashboards to support decision-making processes.
