Assuit Oil Refining Company (ASORC) refined 3.8 million tons of crude oil during fiscal year (FY) 2016/2017, according to the Head of ASORC, Nagy Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The company produced 1.1 million tons of diesel, 41,000 tons of butane, and 26,000 tons of benzene. It also produced 2.1 million tons of mazut, which was provided to electric-power plants, along with naphtha and jet fuel.

Ghaffer reported the figures during the company’s annual general assembly. The meeting was chaired by the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources.
