ASORC Hosts ‘Your Safety Matters to Us’ Initiative Under President El-Sisi’s Human Development Vision

Under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s human development initiative, “A New Beginning for Human Building,” Assiut Oil Refining (ASORC) hosted the initiative “Your Safety Matters to Us.”

The Ministry of Labor launched this initiative to spread the culture of occupational safety and health among workers in various fields of work. The Labor Directorate in Assiut, in cooperation with ASORC (Head of the Petroleum Geographical Region of Southern Upper Egypt), prepared and organized the initiative, where many workers in various companies within the governorate attended, in addition to workers in sister petroleum companies within the geographical region.

Assiut Governor Hesham Abu El-Nasr presided over the opening ceremony, officially launching the initiative’s activities. Abu El-Nasr inaugurated the safety and protection equipment exhibition at ASORC, which showcased various rescue devices, gas detection instruments, firefighting equipment, and personal protective gear. Attendees were provided with a detailed demonstration on how to use the equipment and ensure proper safety measures.

ASORC Chairman and Chairman of the Petroleum Geographical Region of Southern Upper Egypt, Maged El-Kordy, delivered a speech emphasizing that fostering a positive culture of occupational safety and health requires the active participation of all stakeholders. He highlighted the importance of continuous improvement in workplace safety through collaboration, encouraging employees to promptly report any potential hazards to the Safety Department and share their ideas and suggestions for enhancing operational safety across all company activities.

Safe and healthy working conditions contribute to increased worker productivity and job satisfaction. Building a strong culture in this area enhances success at all levels within companies, which in turn can support positive outcomes in the wider community, El-Kordy noted.
