Saudi Aramco has announced plans to increase its gas output by 60% by the year 2030, stated Ashraf Al Ghazzawi, the Executive Vice President for Strategy and Corporate Development, during a recent energy conference.
Aramco has put a hold on its plans to expand oil output capacity and is now shifting its focus towards developing unconventional gas fields, similar to the shale fields found in the United States.
Additionally, the company is exploring opportunities to invest in liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects abroad.
