Aramco Reopens Safaniyah Oilfield

Saudi Aramco reopened Safaniyah oilfield after finishing all the needed repairs in the field, allowing full output to resume, two trade sources said, Zawya reported citing Reuters.

Aramco closed part of the offshore oilfield because of a power cable cut by a vessel’s anchor. The company mentioned that the damages were minor and now resolved.

Safaniyah is the largest offshore oilfield in the world, with a capacity of more than one million barrels per day (b/d) that includes heavy crude oil.
