Agiba Petroleum Company (APC) raised crude oil production rates to 44,000 barrel per day (b/d) and around 18.4 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d) of natural gas in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018/19, a press release by the ministry of petroleum pointed out.
The report that Essam El Kafas presented to Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Tarek El Molla, attributed the rising rates to the Meleiha field operation. The first well in the field, located in the Egyptian Western Desert produced 2,000 b/d of crude oil, which later increased to 4500 b/d after connecting the second well to the national grid.
Such achievements were the main driving force of the APC to work on the third well, which will increase the overall production during the coming phase.
The APC is working now on several projects related to developing the production capacity at Meleiha area concession, including generating electricity and upgrading crude oil shipping.
