The Alexandria Mineral Oils Company (AMOC) signed a cooperation protocol with the Orman Association to implement a project to rehabilitate the village of Palestine in Al-Amriya district in Alexandria.
This comes in light of the framework of implementing the plans of the Higher Committee for Community Development in the Petroleum Sector, headed and sponsored by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla.
The protocol aims to improve and advance the neediest families, by equipping and furnishing 55 homes, providing 54 heads of cattle for supporting families, and medical supplies such as wheelchairs, prostheses, and earphones, in addition to various other projects for the people of the village, at a total cost of about EGP 13.8 million.
The protocol was signed by Amr Lotfy, AMOC’s Chairman, and Hossam Kabbani, President of the Orman Association, in the presence of Alaa Hagar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for the Technical Office, and a number of officials from both sides.
Lotfy explained that the project to rehabilitate the village of Palestine in Al-Amriya neighborhood comes within the framework of the company’s growing interest in providing safe housing for citizens that guarantees a decent life for them.
This project comes in accordance with the petroleum sector’s strategy for social responsibility, contributing to efforts to eradicate poverty in all its forms, contributing to the development efforts implemented by the state in villages, supporting the most caring citizens of the governorate, and enhancing their ability to face societal challenges, Lotfy noted.
Kabbani indicated that the association provides many services to citizens in various governorates of the Republic, adding that this protocol is an extension of the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, which makes great efforts in community development.
