AMOC Carries Out Successful Emergency Response Exercise

Alexandria Minerals Oil Company (AMOC) has implemented a successful emergency response drill in cooperation with the geographical committee in Alexandria.

The exercise simulated a fire hazard in a warehouse, including a medical evacuation scenario conducted by ambulance crews which involved the emergency room inside the company’s site.

It also involved coordination with the geographical committee to send external support and the arrival of a fire truck from Alexandria Petroleum Company (APC), then requesting further assistance and the arrival of a fire truck from Misr Petroleum Company.

The drill demonstrated the readiness of the company’s employees and the effectiveness of coordination and speed of response between oil companies in the geographical area. It also showed the ability to carry out tasks and provide all capabilities to enhance safety and security standards in addition to the accuracy of dealing with emergency cases efficiently.

Alaa Amin, Chairman of APC, commended the performance during the drill and the professional handling of emergencies, which aligned with the technical and management capabilities of the petroleum sector.

At the conclusion of the exercise, Amr Lotfy, Chairman of AMOC, emphasized its primary objectives: enhancing understanding and response to emergency situations, raising the level of preparedness and response speed, and ensuring adherence to the highest health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards to protect individuals, equipment, and company assets.

Lotfy congratulated all participants on the success of the exercise and requested a detailed report to identify lessons learned and any weaknesses uncovered. He stressed that recognizing these weaknesses and deriving lessons is the most critical outcome of the exercise.
