Algeria’s Unrest not to Affect Oil, Gas Production

Algeria’s production level of oil and gas seems to be unaffected by the wave of political unrest that is taking over the country, an International Energy Agency (IEA) official said, Reuters reported.

“There are as yet no signs that (Algeria’s) actual production and exports have been affected, but it’s a situation that we will watch and see how it develops,” Neil Atkinson, head of the IEA oil industry and market division, told Reuters.

On the other hand, ExxonMobil and Algeria’s national company, Sonatrach, hindered their discussion to develop Algeria’s natural gas field because of the unrest wave.
