The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi directed the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to intensify cooperation with Eni for more exploration and production activities (E&P) in Egypt, a statement issued by the Spokesman of Egyptian Presidency’s Facebook Page reported.
Al-Sisi urged facilitating Eni’s operations in Egypt and overcoming any obstacles that may face it, which comes in line with Egypt’s goal to maximize its oil and gas resources and use them in an optimum way in the development process to become a regional energy hub.
This came during a meeting between the President and Eni’s CEO, Claudio Descalzi, to review the company’s E&P operations in Egypt in attendance of the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, and Eni’s COO Natural Resources, Alessandro Puliti.
For his part, Descalzi showcased the latest developments of several projects implemented in Egypt especially in the Red Sea, Mediterranean and western region. He praised the fruitful partnership with the Egyptian government which is supported directly by President Sisi.
