Al-Sisi Discusses Energy Cooperation with Greek Minster

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi discussed cooperation in energy with the Greek Minister of Energy and Environment, Kostis Hatzidakis, during the president’s visit to Athena, according to the Spokesman of the Egyptian Presidency Facebook page.

According to the statement, the meeting tackled ways for supporting the mutual cooperation between the two sides in new, renewable and conventional energy in light of Egypt’s efforts to enhance the energy sector on both regional and national levels.

During the meeting, Al-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s interest to boost collaboration with the Greek side especially after the establishment of East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) and the signing of the bilateral agreement for marine demarcation which will maximize exploitation of natural gas and hydrocarbon reserves in the economic zones of the two countries.
