Kuwait Energy PLC announced that production of Al-Jahra SE-1X oil well located in Abu Sennan concession in Egypt’s Western Desert has started, reported Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) .
The company’s CEO, Sara Akbar said that the well is producing at a 2” choke size and output has steadied at a per day average rate of 410b/d of oil.
The well was discovered in July 2016, and a development lease was granted for Kuwait Energy from the Egyptian Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) during August to start working on the well, with an initial rate of 460b/d.
Kuwait Energy owns 50% of revenue interest and is the operator of the Abu Sennan concession lease. Dover Investments holds 28% and Rockhopper Exploration holds 22%.
