Al-Jahra SE-1X Oil Well Starts Production

Kuwait Energy PLC announced that production of Al-Jahra SE-1X oil well located in Abu Sennan concession in Egypt’s Western Desert has started, reported Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) .

The company’s CEO, Sara Akbar said that the well is producing at a 2” choke size and output has steadied at a per day average rate of 410b/d of oil.

The well was discovered in July 2016, and a development lease was granted for Kuwait Energy from the Egyptian Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) during August to start working on the well, with an initial rate of 460b/d.

Kuwait Energy owns 50% of revenue interest and is the operator of the Abu Sennan concession lease. Dover Investments holds 28% and Rockhopper Exploration holds 22%.

Kuwait Energy is an independent oil and gas company actively engaged in the exploration, appraisal, development, and production of hydrocarbons. The firm is involved in 10 oil and gas assets across Egypt, Iraq, Yemen and Oman, seven of which it operates.
