ADNOC Distribution, the UAE’s leading mobility and convenience retailer, kicked off one of the world’s largest superfast electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs. The company also outlined plans to equip the nation’s highway network with EV infrastructure by late 2027, according to a press release by the company.
The newly inaugurated EV Mega Hub is strategically located at Saih Shuaib on the E11 highway linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It includes 60 high-speed charging points that can power up most electric vehicles from empty to 80% in about 20 minutes.
The site is the largest superfast EV charging facility in the Middle East, Africa, and Türkiye, and ranks as the sixth largest globally.
The reveal precedes Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, where international experts are gathering to explore advancements in green energy and infrastructure.
This step underscores ADNOC Group’s dedication to advancing low-carbon mobility solutions through technology, innovation, and large-scale infrastructure investment.
The hub forms a central pillar of ADNOC Distribution’s nationwide EV infrastructure expansion plan. Under the roadmap, the company aims to develop 20 EV charging hubs across key UAE highways by the end of 2027, with 15 expected to be operational by the end of 2026.
Once completed, the network will provide comprehensive coverage across all major national highways.
The initiative is designed to support long-distance EV travel and address range anxiety, a key barrier to wider EV adoption.
By strengthening charging infrastructure along major transport corridors, ADNOC Distribution is positioning itself as a key enabler of the UAE’s transition toward smarter, more sustainable mobility.
The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has outlined a long-term goal to ensure that battery-electric vehicles account for 50% of all vehicles on the country’s roads by 2050.
