ADNOC Awards Two Offshore Gas Contracts

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) awarded two Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contracts for its offshore mega natural gas planned project, located in the Hail, Ghasha, and Dalma fields in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), World Oil reported.

UK’s Bechtel has the Hail and Ghasha FEED contract, while UAE’s TechnipFMC won the Dalma FEED contract, according to Offshore Magazine.

ADNOC stated that the two contracts are the largest FEED contracts ever issued by an oil and gas firm.

The project, which is located in the northwest offshore area of Abu Dhabi, might cover 20% of UAE’s natural gas demand by the second half of 2020s.

“The growth in energy demand in Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE has prompted ADNOC to further harness its gas resources, as part of its 2030 smart growth strategy. This FEED award provides ADNOC with the potential to unlock additional undeveloped sour gas reserves and will allow us to deliver against our strategic objective to ensure a sustainable and economic supply of gas,” UAE Minister of State and ADNOC Group CEO, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, stated.
