The Egypt Oil & Gas (EOG) 2nd Upstream Operational Excellence Convention witnessed a series of technical workshops on unconventional activities for production enhancement during its first day, December 2. The workshops were presented by representatives of national, international, service, and joint venture companies, who introduced case studies from Egyptian fields and insights on unconventional production workflow.
The workshops included a presentation on the lessons learned by Eni from the two Sulphur treatment technologies applied at the Zohr natural gas field: the Claus and the Thiopaq technologies; a presentation on theĀ development plan established by the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO) for appraisal wells at the Nazzazat formation, considering all the risks and uncertainties of a very heterogeneous oil reservoir; a presentation delivered by Khalda on integrated workflow for unconventional reservoir development from seismic surveys to stimulation; in addition to a case study presented by Schlumberger, which explained novel fracturing techniques to improve gas production three folds, addressing the possible water blockage in the Western Desert.
At the end of the presentations, attendees had the opportunity to join the presenters for four different roundtable discussions during which presenters answered questions and clarified the topics discussed.
