Egypt's gas flaring is enough to cover 5% of domestic electricity production, Director and Head of Natural Resources at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Eric Rasmussen, stated.
Egypt is the 11th country in gas flaring worldwide, Program Manager-Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership at the World Bank, Bjorn Hamso, stated, adding that Egypt jumped from the 9th to the 11th place.
The World Bank has provided the Egyptian energy sector with $4 billion in funding.
