Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with Tõnno Vähk, CEO of Aton Resources, and Cherif Barakat, the company’s Country Manager, on the sidelines of the Egypt Mining Forum 2023.

During the meeting, El Molla explained that Aton Resources is the most experienced mining company operating in Egypt since it obtained the Abu Marawat Concession in 2007 for research and exploration for minerals and that there is fruitful cooperation with the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA).

El Molla pointed out the ministry’s readiness to provide all aspects of support to increase the volume of its business in Egypt and achieve new successes during the coming period.

For his part, Vähk confirmed that there has been a development in the company’s work since its inception in Egypt, in the Abu Marawat concession area.

Vähk expressed his hopes for more investments in this field and to exploit the capabilities of the company and its technology and techniques to achieve more success during the coming period. He also pointed out his happiness to participate in the Egypt Mining Forum and the success it has achieved.
