The Egypt Oil & Gas Committee launched its first edition of their Upstream Conventions in January 2018 with the objective of promoting best practices and new technologies in the Egyptian upstream oil and gas sector. Under the high patronage of H.E. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the fourth edition of the event, to be held in April, aims to highlight operational excellence in Egypt’s oil and gas brownfields as means of sharing successful approaches and inspire new practices in operations throughout the country.

The Upstream Convention is held annually as part of the EOG Committee’s vision of moving the petroleum industry forward and helping Egypt in its ambition of becoming a regional energy hub. The 2021 Upstream Convention will see the EOG Committee, along with H.E. The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, present the fourth annual Upstream Operational Excellence Awards to recognize value- added work.
