USA’s General Electric (GE) is planning a 150MW wind power plant in Egypt. The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) and GE are currently working on finalizing the deal, officials at the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy told Al Mal.
According to sources the ministry would select the most suitable site for the project, and GE would handle the establishment of the renewable energy power plant.
Proposed sites for the new plant include the West Nile and Gulf of Suez, as they are currently witnessing an acceleration in wind movement, and similar projects have also been successfully implemented there.
A key item currently under negotiation is the price per kilowatt hour (KWh). According to sources the price set maybe 4.06 cents/KWh.
