Statoil, the Norwegian explorer said that it finalized the heavy work of the offshore lifting of two wellhead platforms on the Peregrino oilfield off Brazil.
“The plan calls for a total of 30 horizontal production wells to be drilled, together with seven water injection wells,” Statoil’s Peregrino production director Johan Mikkelsen said in a statement.
Heerema’s heavy lift vessel Hermod carried out the platform installation work, as the two jacket substructures for the platforms were installed on the field late last year.
The Peregrino field’s floating production, storage and offloading vessel, which being built by Maersk at the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore is scheduled to arrive on the field for hook-up and commissioning later this year.
The field is expected to deliver its first output next year and continue up to 2040.
