The ministerial council of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) will hold its 78th meeting in Cairo on May 28.
An OAPEC press release said the council will discuss the issue of the information banks and the 19th session of oil and industry basics that was held in Kuwait last March.
The meeting, which will be headed by Kuwait’s representative to OAPEC’s executive bureau Oil Undersecretary Abbas Naqi, will also discuss studies conducted by its secretariat general on oil, energy, economy, and the environment, the release added.
The executive bureau will meet on May 26 and 27 to discuss the agenda of the ministerial council’s meeting, it pointed out.
Founded on January 9, 1968, under an agreement among Kuwait, Libya and Saudi Arabia, OAPEC was later on joined by Algeria (1970), Bahrain (1970), Egypt (1973), Iraq (1972), Qatar (1970), Syria (1972), Tunisia (1982) and United Arab Emirates (1970).
